Bel's Sustainability Project

BSP is a groundbreaking community initiative designed for young individuals aged 7 to 16 who face the risk of disengagement from formal education. As a pilot program, BPS is dedicated to providing students at Quaker Hill Academy, Kitale with an alternative educational pathway, focusing on digital incidental learning and environmental sustainability through permaculture training. Using our comprehensive engagement model, we aim to not only support and empower participants but also enhance their capabilities and that of their community to foster their success. The BSP program is poised for expansion, with plans to extend its transformative initiatives to other schools in the region. With a steadfast commitment to improving digital literacy and uplifting the lives of orphaned and disadvantaged children, BSP aims to replicate its success and impact across a wider community. By leveraging its innovative approach to education, which integrates digital learning and environmental sustainability, BSP seeks to empower more young individuals with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the 21st century. Quaker Hill Academy

Quaker Hill Academy in Kitale stands as a beacon of hope and opportunity for the children of the community. Founded in 2003 by Margaret Wandabwa, the academy is a testament to her unwavering dedication to education and community service. Inspired by the belief that every child deserves access to quality education, Margaret established the academy with the mission of enhancing education standards and eradicating illiteracy among orphaned and vulnerable students. Quaker Hill Academy currently accommodates 250 students, comprising both day scholars and boarders. This diverse student body reflects the academy's commitment to providing educational opportunities to children from all backgrounds. Despite its humble beginnings, Quaker Hill Academy has grown into a thriving educational institution, thanks to the unwavering support and dedication of Margaret Wandabwa. As the sole funder of the academy, Margaret's generosity and vision have ensured that generations of children in Kitale have access to quality education and the opportunity to build a better future for themselves and their community.
